The sprue base seats the flask and holds the wax tree while the flask is filled with investment, forming the pouring cup at the base. Indco Tools makes them in two rubber compounds: natural rubber and silicone rubber.
Both are available in standard sizes from 2″ to 6″ to match the flask diameter. Silicone rubber offers greater heat resistance and a longer service life; natural rubber is the economical general-purpose choice.
